This year, three students formed an environmental initiative which has not only changed our school but has spread its environmental message far and wide. Abby Fitzgerald, Stella Corzine and Josie Karr created TRC to encourage sustainable practices at Peak to Peak, and then partnered with Lafayette Open Space, One Voice for Change and All-Careers to collaborate toward a global impact. Not only did their video work teach our K-12 school about the importance of recycling and composting as well as how to do it, but their leadership in a collaboration with other nonprofits promoted how young people can make every career an environmental career in a recent global One Voice for Change event. In this event with students from around the world, they led a discussion, showcased sustainable professional practices, and shared their own designs for sustainable menstrual products. They are changemakers and they inspire.
