Stacy has served as the K-5 Science Resource Teacher at Flagstaff Academy for 11 years and strives to inspire students to become life-long learners, better understand the natural world, engage in their community, and get excited about science. She integrates her experience as an ornithologist, environmental and outdoor educator into her lesson plans and projects, while also aligning them to Colorado State Academic Standards. Beyond facilitating Science Labs for her elementary school, she founded a student-led club focused on sustainability, a place-based education program for fifth graders, a scientific conference showcasing student research about pika, and a club for students to learn about space with NASA scientists.
