Governor Jared Polis signs bill to fund the Outdoor Equity Grant Program

Next 100 Colorado members are leading the state towards the establishment of a just and inclusive parks and public lands system that reflects the faces of our country, respects all cultures, and actively engages all people. As a coalition, they offer a community space for people of color, provide opportunities for allies and accomplices to support efforts, and provide a vehicle to launch projects that build an outdoor culture that serves and celebrates everyone. One of their recent projects spearheaded a multi-year campaign to establish Colorado’s new Outdoor Equity Grant Program. As a result of their efforts, Governor Polis signed HB21-1318 in to law on June 21st, 2021. The grant program will provide sustainable funding of up to $3 million annually from lottery proceeds to entities providing conservation, environmental, and outdoor experiences and educational opportunities for underserved youth.
