The Lincoln Hills Cares Growing Outdoor Leaders (G.O.L.) program addresses the historical trauma created from the segregation of people of color from outdoor spaces and the existence of systemic racism. By increasing equity in accessing environmental education and stewardship and outdoor recreation experiences, G.O.L. aims to develop young outdoor leaders, ambassadors and stewards of color who give back to their communities and support the environment. Our culturally relevant programs are facilitated at a historic African-American resort where youth develop an understanding of their cultural connections to nature and the outdoors.
