Cal-Wood is a 1,200 acre scenic mountain setting 15 miles northwest of Boulder in Jamestown, Colorado.  We are a non-profit bringing kids and families together with nature driven by outstanding environmental education programming.  

Cal-Wood is seeking energetic, flexible, hard-working, and motivated applicants for an exciting and rewarding position leading environmental education based evening programs (night hikes and/or campfires). Individuals may also be invited to serve as substitute field instructors on weekdays when the need arises or work weekend family programs. 


Work 1-3 dinners and evening programs per week with support from full time Cal-Wood instructors. Run and serve meals (no cooking necessary) before evening programs and lead evening programs (such as night hikes, campfires and indoor naturalist programs).

Potentially work 3-day/2-night programs with school groups as a substitute field instructor. No overnight supervision necessary. 

Potentially run weekend family programs including meals and night programs as a nature educator with groups of families (Saturday 10 AM through Sunday 2PM)

Qualifications / Requirements:
Strong desire and ability to work effectively with students from a variety of backgrounds and ages.

Bachelor's Degree (ideally in science, natural resource management, education, outdoor education, or other related field).

Experience working with kids. 

Ability to pass background checks.

Spanish ability is highly desired, but not mandatory.

Must have reliable vehicle that can handle dirt roads and snow.

Compensation: Meals included when working programs. 
$18/hour for 4 hours (dinner and night program 5:30-9:30)
