Summer camp naturalists work as a team during one week of training and 9 weeks of outdoor-based day camp to care for and teach children ages 5 – 8 years old, Monday – Friday. Work hours range from 7:30-5:30, and a typical day is from 8 am – 4:45 pm. Summer Camp Naturalists are responsible for planning and leading activities, games, and field trips according to the weekly themes, and for delivering high-quality, science-based environmental education in an inspiring and professional manner. Summer camp naturalists may assist with other youth programming on occasion and are responsible for assisting in daily site maintenance. The summer camp is based out of Legacy Ranch in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
