Join environmental education (EE) providers and supporters from agencies, nonprofits, schools, and environmental, nature, conservation fields for an engaging summit. Join us to learn more about the Colorado Environmental Education Plan, network and share ideas, and find inspiration from innovative EE leaders.

'What Kind of Ancestor Do You Want to Be? Cultural Keystones as the new Ecological Literacy'
In this keynote presentation, Dr. John Hausdoerffer will explore connections among diverse and worldwide struggles for the ecological basis of cultural identity. These case studies will be used as prompts to contemplate how environmental educators can help students from all backgrounds find their own cultural keystones on the landscape.
Afternoon Sessions Include:
- Cultivating a Sense of Place - Megan Patterson (Forest Kindergarten)
- Building Watershed Identity - Kellie Gorman/Hilary Mason (Colorado Water Issues Deliberative Forum Guide)
- Expanding Our Reach - Zuza Bohley (Americas Latino Eco Festival)
- Cultivating a Sense of Place - Gina Garrett (Walking Mountains)
- Building Watershed Identity - Denise Rue-Pastin (Forests to Faucets)
- Expanding Our Reach - Sarah Johnson (New Ideas for Teacher P.D.)
All are invited to an informal campfire gathering Thursday and Friday evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm at Yurt #10 located within Loop A of the state park (bring your own food and drink, musical instruments, and good stories).

Cost: $55 members/ $65 nonmembers (early-bird discount of $45 members/ $55 nonmembers ends on September 15, 2016.)
In case of extreme inclement weather the conference will be held at the Ouray County 4-H Event Center.
What to Bring:
Water bottle, sun hat, appropriate clothing for being outdoors all day (layers), lawn chair/camp chair, sunscreen
Ridgway State Park is waiving the vehicle fee for all those attending the conference. However, if you plan to use any other part of park during your stay (including camping) you will need to purchase a vehicle pass. http://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/Ridgway/Pages/Fees.aspx
Camping at Ridgway State Park
