State and Federal Legislation: Opportunities to Advance EE in 2021

Registration is closed for this event
Join CAEE and Sarah Bodor, NAAEE, to discuss the current legislative opportunities in the EE field on a national and local state level.

Join NAAEE’s Director of Policy & Affiliate Relations, Sarah Bodor, to learn about opportunities to advance EE under a new administration and new Congress. Discuss new legislation being introduced that has the potential for significant impact on state and local environmental education programs, and sources of federal funding that can be used to support formal and nonformal educational partnerships, outdoor learning, green schools programs, climate change education, and more.

Get updates on several state policy opportunities from CAEE's Executive Director, Katie Navin, including:

  • creation of an Outdoor Equity Fund, an effort led by Next100 Colorado, to award micro-grants to entities delivering outdoor and environmental education and programming for underserved children in Colorado; and
  • support of the LEAP (Learning Enrichment and Academic Progress) Ballot Initiative to provide funding directly to families to engage in out-of-school learning opportunities, including tutoring, career and technical education, and environmental and outdoor learning.
