PLT Fall 2020 K-8 Virtual Workshop
PLT provides teachers, parents, youth group leaders, foresters, and community members with fun and engaging, activities and training to take children outside to learn about trees, forests, and the broader environment
This virtual workshop includes:
Zoom Kick Off Meeting- Join us for a time that works best for your schedule October 20th 1-3pm or October 22nd 4:30-6:30pm. Meet your workshop facilitators, try out a virtual PLT activity, and get a preview of the self-paced online training. Participants also have a chance to win fabulous PLT door prizes!
Self-Paced Online Training Engaging and interactive learning experiences demonstrate select PLT activities with simulations and video demonstrations. Lesson planning exercises help you plan how to facilitate activities with your students in your own setting. Explore local Colorado resources. Workshop facilitators will also be available via class discussion boards and Zoom office hours to help answer any questions you may have. The self-paced online training will be open until November 10th.
PLT’s PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity e-book integrate core subjects like science, reading, writing, mathematics, and social studies. These easy to use, place based activities help youth learn how to think, not what to think about complex environmental issues.
