Connecting Environmental Education to Colorado's New Academic Standards
Colorado implemented new Academic Standards this past fall and environmental education is a perfect way to engage learners in mastering the standards. To help you prepare, CAEE invites you to attend a virtual workshop on how environmental education programs can support and enhance standards-based curriculum and activities being taught both in and outside the classroom. During the workshop, we will:
- Identify key components of environmental literacy
- Evaluate the use of 3-D learning and how it is incorporated into the Colorado State Academic Standards
- Identify tools to help you correlate programs and lessons to academic standards to better speak to the teachers you serve
Workshop Format
Typically, this workshop is a 6-hour full-day event. However, due to social distancing limitations, we are offering this workship through a combination of independent online work and required group meetings. We will use Moodle for independent work and Zoom for the group meetings (video and call-in options).
