The Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education (CAEE) is stepping into an exciting new chapter, rooted in gratitude, community, and possibility.

As our current Executive Director prepares to step away from her role in mid-May, we pause to celebrate the leadership, care, and vision she has brought to CAEE and to the environmental and outdoor learning community across Colorado. Katie’s work has helped strengthen relationships across the state, elevate the practice of environmental and outdoor learning, and nurture a culture grounded in collaboration and shared purpose.

At the same time, we are energized by what lies ahead.

CAEE is a thriving, member-driven network shaped by educators, nonprofit leaders, community partners, and agency professionals who believe deeply in the interconnected wellbeing of people and nature. Our programs, partnerships, and priorities continue with a strong staff team, an engaged Board of Directors, and the collective leadership of our members guiding the way.

This moment offers an opportunity to build on what has been created and to imagine what’s possible next. CAEE’s collaborative way of working, rooted in trust, inclusion, and thoughtful process, will continue to guide our work as we grow and adapt to meet the needs of our community and the field.

To support this next chapter, the CAEE Board of Directors has opened a search for our next Executive Director. We are seeking a leader who is excited to steward a collaborative, values-driven organization; who brings empathy, curiosity, and systems thinking to complex work; and who believes that strong relationships, care, and wellbeing are essential to lasting impact.

We warmly invite those who feel called to this work to explore the opportunity and consider applying.
