Denver, CO., August 25, 2024 – There’s still time to register for the 23rd Annual Advancing Environmental Education Conference, hosted by the Colorado Alliance for Environmental Education (CAEE), taking place from September 18-20 at the CSU Spur Campus in Denver.

Now in its 23rd year, the conference offers a rich lineup of sessions, roundtables, and workshops led by experts in environmental and outdoor learning. Attendees will dive into topics such as storytelling, equity and inclusion, practical education strategies, community engagement, and capacity building. Highlighted sessions include “EE Story Lab - Ignite Connection and Keep Our Collective History Alive,” “Supporting Students with Special Needs in the Outdoors,” and “Supporting Equitable Climate Action: From Classrooms to Communities.”

This year’s theme, “eeVoices: The Power of Story,” emphasizes the role of educators as storytellers for both communities and the planet. “Our theme underscores the vital role we play as narrators of our communities and the environment,” said Katie Navin, Executive Director of CAEE. “Whether you’re a K-12 teacher, state agency personnel, university professor, or camp counselor, this conference is a gathering ground for anyone passionate about environmental and outdoor learning.”

The conference will also celebrate the exceptional achievements of individuals, organizations, community initiatives, schools, and businesses in environmental and outdoor learning with the annual Awards for Excellence in EE Celebration. This year, 10 recipients will be honored for their dedication, commitment, and leadership in the field, and the event will feature a plenary panel session with the awardees.
